Jamie Lin Snider F/W 2011

Besides the fact that I love Jamie lin Snider as a person you have to smile upon seeing her dresses grace their way down the runway. She just gets it. The collection was as if a desert tribe went to the Oscars. It brought me back to MAGHILD EVENSETH DISINGTON’s Furry Objects 2.0 and made me think about the connection between our clothes and what we represent as a culture but also the disconnect between that and our material objects. Jamie’s Chain dresses linked together with jewels and more organic matter such as fur and animal bones layered over soft fabrics brought together a more modern look along with something more personable and lasting. Jamie always puts the time in her pieces to create a one of a kind experience for the consumer.
